On March 27, 2018, Joint Symposium of Zhejiang University and Hokkaido University (Janpan) was held successfully. The Academic Symposium was hold by Center for Neuroscience Zhejiang University. The seminar was led by Professor Hu Hailan from Center for Neuroscience. The meeting invited Professor Toshiya Matsushima from School of Life Sciences Hokkaido University in Japan, Dr. Yu Ohmura from School of Medicine Hokkaido University in Japan, and . Dr. Cui Yihui from Center for Neuroscience Zhejiang university, and Wang Hongdi and Hokitomi Sasamori from Hokkaido University in Japan to give reports. Zhejiang University-Japan Hokkaido University Academic Conference was host by Wang Hao, a researcher of Center for Neuroscience Zhejiang University.

Professor Junji Matsushima introduced the development and research teams of School of Life Sciences Hokkaido University in Japan, and shared the research progress in cost-benefit of his research group with birds. Dr. Omura Muroto introduced the regulation of anxiety, depression and impulsivity in the serotonergic system. Dr. Cui Yihui also introduced the two long articles that her current research group published in Nature, which perfectly reveals the neural mechanism of ketamine on rapid antidepressant. In addition, Wang Hongdi and Yu Sen Hitomi also brought wonderful academic reports. Everyone enthusiastically asked questions and had an active discussion with the reporters. The successful academic seminar not only enhanced mutual understanding between Zhejiang University and Hokkaido University in Japan, but also was a good beginning for academic exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
