To promote interdisciplinary study in human senses of olfaction, vision, audition, tactual sense, and gustation, Beijing Institutes of Life Science, CAS and Hengyuanxiang (group) co. ltd set up “Hengyuanxiang Talent”to reward 10 postgraduate students yearly for their academic contributions in sense, neuroscience, psychology and cognition with potential application values. 

 In 2013, 10 postgraduate students were selected to be “Hengyuanxiang Talent” and the awarding ceremonywas held in Beijing on 25th July. Jianming Yang from our institute won the honor for his findings in sensory neural circuitry and schizophrenia.Other talents were from the Chinese Academy of Science, Peking University, Fudan University and other colleges.
    Last year, PhD student Kexin Li from the institute won the same honor for her work in schizophrenia and epilepsy neural circuitry.
